Food fortification adds essential micronutrients to commonly consumed foods. Selecting the appropriate vitamin formulation and fortification approach depends on the food matrix, production process and technical requirements of the application.

BASF offers vitamins for the fortification of a range of staple foods, including edible oils, flour, sugar, milk, rice, and condiments. Our portfolio includes vitamin A in liquid and powder formulations, as well as other vitamins. 

Alongside our product solutions, BASF provides technical application support to premixers, staple food producers, and fortification project partners. This includes guidance on the use of vitamins in different food matrices and, for vitamin A fortification, access to a semi-quantitative testing solution in application.
