Vitamin B5 is an essential micronutrient for all animals. It is required for energy production and metabolism. Given the variations in vitamin B5 content and its accessibility from plant-based feeds, animal nutritionists and farmers must consider incorporating additives or vitamin blends enriched with pantothenic acid into feed to meet requirements for optimal livestock growth, development, and overall performance.
BASF provides a high-quality vitamin B5 granulate (calcium D-pantothenate) for use in vitamin blends, premixes and feeds. The flowability and mixing behavior of the product is excellent and ensures homogeneous mixing.

Vitamin B5 is necessary for maintaining body functions of all animal species. Thus, our Lutavit® Calpan 98% (calcium D-pantothenate) covers all major species of livestock, companion animals as well as aquaculture.
Calcium D-pantothenate is highly stable and resistant to the effects of atmospheric oxygen and light. Substantially stable during thermal processing, depending on temperature.
Vitamin B5 occurs in a biologically highly active form. The product should be processed with all due care and attention to occupational hygiene following the instructions in the safety data sheet.
