Vitamin A is an essential micronutrient for all animals. Supplementation of animal feeds with vitamin A is crucial to meet animals' nutritional requirements and promote optimal growth, development, and performance.
BASF provides high-quality microencapsulated vitamin A acetate for use in vitamin blends, premixes and feeds. A water-dispersible formulation is available for use in milk replacers, and for multivitamin mixtures, which are administered directly by means of the drinking water. A range of vitamin A oils is available for the preparation of liquid vitamin A solutions for oral use.

Vitamin A is necessary for maintaining body functions of all animal species. Thus, our vitamin A product portfolio covers all major species of livestock, companion animals as well as aquaculture.
Our vitamin A formulations contain this essential nutrient in a biologically highly active form. To ensure good stability of the powdered products (Lutavit® A 1000 NXT, Lutavit® A 500 Plus), the retinol is esterified, stabilizing agents and antioxidants are added. The formulations are protected against vapor, pressure, and high temperatures during feed production and storage.
Vitamin A occurs in a biologically highly active form. The product should be processed with all due care and attention to occupational hygiene following the instructions in the safety data sheet.
