Dairy products are part of the diet of many cultures worldwide. They come in plenty of different types and are made from various types of milk, such as cow milk, goat milk or buffalo milk. Dairy products are said to have a positive health impact, since they provide many nutrients that are essential to the human body.
BASF supports dairy producers with a wide range of health ingredients used for fortification and improvement of nutritional profiles of all kinds of dairy products. For instance, our Vegapure® phytosterols contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. 2–3g phytosterols per day has been shown to be the most effective and safe dose. Furthermore, we offer a wide range of omega-3 fatty acids. Dry n-3® powder and omega-3 oil both enrich the nutritional profile of milk and yoghurt, rounded out by our vitamin range. With our carotenoids (e.g. apocarotenal or Lucarotin®) dairy producers can color their milk-based beverages and yogurts from yellow over orange to orange-red.
Our range of premium whipping agents, Lamequick®, optimizes all kinds of milk based ready-to-eat desserts such as mousses, aerated creams or puddings.
