Lutalin®

Lutalin(R) contains CLA (conjugated linoleic acids) based on non-GMO sunflower oil. CLA is a special form of the unsaturated omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid.

Feeding Lutalin® - formulated into a product with rumen bypass effect, like rumen protected fat or pelleted feedstuff - reduces milk fat production, increases milk yield and improves blood glucose levels in lactating cows.

The benefit of supplementation of CLA in swine diets is improvement of pork quality by reducing fat content and increasing fat firmness and fat CLA content.

Lutalin(R) for dairy cows

Feeding Lutalin® - formulated into a product with rumen bypass effect, like rumen protected fat or pelleted feedstuff - reduces milk fat production, increases milk yield and improves blood glucose levels in lactating cows.

When dairy cows have access to pastures or green fodder, they ingest linoleic acid, among other things, which can be converted into conjugated linoleic acid in the rumen. This is why milk from grass-fed cows usually contains more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than milk from cows that have no access to pastures or green fodder.

In our portfolio we offer two rumen-protected formulations for dairy cows - ENDULAC CLA and Lutrell(R) Pure.

Lutalin(R) for fattening pigs

The benefit of supplementation of CLA in swine diets is improvement of pork quality by reducing fat content and increasing fat firmness and fat CLA content. There is a consensus that these effects are caused by the trans10, cis-12 CLA isomer.
In various studies in pigs, CLA reduced back fat, subcutaneous fat and increased lean meat. Supplementation of CLA increased marbling score and intramuscular fat content, which is positively correlated with pork quality, specifically tenderness and juiciness. Furthermore CLA improved belly firmness and increased bacon slab hardness, but it did not improve bacon sliceability. Supplementation also extended bacon shelf life, congruent with an increase in fat saturation.

Dosage recommentation

Fattening pigs and sows:

Sows: 5 kg Lutalin® /t lactation feed

Fattening pigs: 5 kg Lutalin® /t feed from approx. 4 weeks before slaughtering

We recommend feeding Lutalin® with 0.5% in the diet over the last 4 weeks of the fattening period.

Dairy cows:

We recommend feeding 17g Lutalin® per day from day 20 before calving until day 60 to 100 after calving. This flexibility is possible in order to fit into the feeding regiments of the individual herd. A shorter period of use until the 30th day after calving is possible, but with a double dose to ensure effectiveness.  For product specific dosage recommendations please refer to Lutalin® and Lutrell® Pure.
